Necrodios - Sardonic Fate (Ep)

DOWNLOAD

Death metal as an alienated form of art aims to recreate and emulate the chaotic immensity and cruelty of nature though harsh aesthetics as well as a narrative style, displayed through technique and composition. Necrodios aims to fulfill these aspirations by crafting an uncompromising and commanding voice in the Toronto underground metal scene.

The founding members of the band, brothers Jet and Jericho, after having played guitar together for some time, formed the melodic death metal band “Sardonic Fate” in 2005 with Ryan on drums and Jules on bass. Initially the band played covers but by 2006 they had an original set-list, at which point Kaveh joined the band on drums, creating the first all metal-head line up of the band.

2007 saw the process of song-writing pursued more aggressively. Meanwhile, the band changed name to Necrodios (“dead god” in Latinate) and recorded an EP of the early songs accomplished up to that point, entitled “Sardonic Fate EP”. For later compositions, the band’s main influences as well as their general style took a new direction, stirring away from maiden-esque melodies and becoming more dissonant, resembling a more pure death metal form.

When Jules left the band for personal reasons in late 2007, Necrodios acquired the help of a series of different bassists. First Karlos (of Valkyrie’s Cry) joined the band and in summer of 2008 “Invoke the Wrath EP”, a collection of songs presenting the new sound of Necrodios, was recorded. By the end of the summer, however, Karlos also parted ways with the band and was replaced by Carlos, who played lives gigs for exactly 7 months before leaving the country! Seeking a more stable line-up, the band held auditions for a permanent bassist to help them complete the new material. Dave W (of Pyrrah) stepped up to the first audition and was deemed worthy of bearing the axe.

Currently Necrodios are pushing their composition style to its potential limits, crafting opuses of fury for their debut full length, to be recorded and released by late summer or early fall of 2009. Stay tuned for more updates.
